United States data breach lawsuit filings, digested monthly and by state

About

About DatabreachRecords

DatabreachRecords is an aggregate tracker. It aggregates United States data breach lawsuit filings — monthly digests, state-level summaries, and the categories of personal data exposed — so that patterns in breach litigation are visible at a glance.

Where the records come from

  • Filings are collected by our automated collector from public complaints, class action notices, and settlement publications, identified by a stable record ID at the source.
  • Records arrive through a gated webhook feed; each is deduplicated by its source ID before it is counted on any digest.
  • Filing dates are normalized to calendar months, company names to a shared identifier, and exposed-data categories to a fixed list of ten data types.

What pages exist (and do not)

  • A national overview, 51 state summaries, twelve monthly digests and ten data-type pages — 75 indexable pages in total. There are no per-company case pages here.
  • Case-level detail pages live on our companion sites: DatabreachClassActions for class action coverage and Data Breach Law Center for case lists and notices. Every record on this site links out to its detail pages there.

Editorial standards

Statistics are compiled from public court and regulator records. Where a filing changes or a duplicate source record arrives, the aggregate updates automatically. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created by reading it.
